River fishing is my passion and living in Yorkshire, I’m surrounded by some beautiful rivers. Some as urban as they come, going through towns and cities. others running through the stunning countryside. They are all home to wild trout and grayling.
Lucky for me the river is in walking distance from my house, giving me even more reason to take my self off after a busy day at work and unwind to the sounds of the river.
In my river fishing journey I have been lucky enough to fish some of the finest rivers in the UK and Europe. from my northern rivers to the chalk streams in Hampshire, The river San in Poland and the beautiful rivers in northern France.
I primarily fish on my local river, the Calder, in the past it has been badly polluted but in recent years has bounced back and the fishing has thrived. Its home to a brilliant head of wild brown trout and grayling along with coarse fish too! Its a river that is prone to flooding with it being situated within steep valley hills. It never fails to amaze me this river and I love nothing more than heading down for a couple of hours fishing after work or even just for a stroll with my springer spaniel, Holly, to watch the free rising fish in the summer months. See below some of the fish from the Calder!
